Crossovers With The Best Fuel Economy

Isn’t it hard to tell what car is a crossover and what car isn’t? I mean, because of this, it’s hard to tell which crossovers get good gas mileage. There definitely are crossovers that get great gas mileage, but since it’s so hard to tell what car is and what car isn’t, this makes it hard to determine the gas mileage that these cars get.

Because of this, I decided to help you determine which cars get the best mileage so all you have to do is choose what car you like best.

5. The Honda CR-V
I think we all know about the Honda CR-V. Everytime I see it, I remember the commercial that says “CRAVE” and then it goes into “CR-V”. Did you ever see that commercial? The car has been marketed as a small SUV since the late 1990s. I haven’t seen any of them in Junk Yards so I’m guessing that they’re pretty reliable! Plus, they’re a Honda .. so you know that they’re going to last for a while.

The two-wheel drive model will get better gas than the four-wheel drive CR-V. It has an EPA rating of 21 MPG in the city and 28 miles per gallon on the highway. Because of all the great features it has - including the gas - it has caused for it to be the best-selling SUV for four years in a row.

4. Mini Cooper Countryman
I love Mini Coopers! I think they’re adorable - I’ve always wanted one. Anyway, as of now, Mini only makes .. “Mini” cars. They’re so desperate to get into the crossover business that they made a crossover .. even though it seems like an oxymoron. The Countryman that’s two wheel drive and with a manual transmission will give you the most gas mileage. When you drive it in the city, you get 28 MPG; if you drive it on the highway, you get 31 MPG.

I know, it’s ridiculous. This is the car that probably gets the best mileage on the list of Crossovers.

3. Nissan’s Rogue
The car gets 22 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway - this gives it a total of 25 MPG. One of the main reasons why the car gets such good mileage is because of its CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). Instead of having to shift through different gears, the car will use a belt and pulley system in order to transmit the power of the engine to the wheels. CVT’s are kind of new so I don’t know if you’d be able to find one at Junk Yards .. just in case you’re looking for one.

2. Highlander Hybrid From Toyota
The Highlander Hybrids was the only one to make the list of best crossover fuel economy and not the list of “Which Hybrid Will Get To The Junk Yards First”. Just like the Honda mentioned before, the Highlander has been around for years & years. It gets 28 MPG both in the city and on the highway.

Even though it’s a hybrid, I’m pretty sure that the Mini Countryman gets better mileage.

1. Toyota RAV4
Whenever I see these cars when I go driving, I always think that they’re the most compact crossovers on the road! When you take it all around the city, you’ll get 22 MPG and when you take it on the highway, you’ll get 24 MPG. Do you know why you always get more miles on the highway? Hmm ..

Anyway, which Crossover will you choose?
